Lee, a 17-year-old from Silverdale, Wash., earned one of eight spots in the quarterfinals by knocking off Lizette Salas, 3 & 1, in the third round. She rallied to post a 1-up victory over Moriya Jutanugarn in the second round, played earlier in the day.
Her co-medalists, Rachel Rohanna and Jaclyn Sweeney, were both knocked out during the second round at Charlotte Country Club.
Rohanna, who set the Women's Amateur scoring record with a 65 in the first round of stroke play on Monday, lost in 19 holes to Marina Alex. Sweeney was defeated, 5 & 3, by Junthima Gulyanamitta.
In a hard-fought match, Alex was later knocked off by 2007 Girls' Junior winner Kristen Park, who earned a 1-up win in 20 holes to make the quarterfinals.
