Rasual Butler scored 18 points to lead the Hornets, while Tyson Chandler posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Paul had 15 points and six assists for the Hornets, who will now hit the road to work on their 10-24 mark as the visitor this season.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are the worst team in the NBA, and will resume a five-game homestand this evening. Memphis is 1-2 so far on the stand and ended a two-game slide with Saturday's 104-103 triumph over the Chicago Bulls.
Mike Miller scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Hakim Warrick buried a free throw with 4.3 seconds left on the clock to lift Memphis over the Bulls. Pau Gasol had 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five blocks, as the Grizzlies blew a double-digit second half lead only to rally in the final seconds for the win.
Chucky Atkins scored 19 points off the bench, Warrick finished with 15 points and 10 boards and Rudy Gay added 13 points and eight rebounds in the win.
Memphis, which is 12-22 at home this season, will close out the homestand on Thursday versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tuesday's showdown between New Orleans/Oklahoma City and Memphis is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season. The Hornets lead the series by a 2-1 count and have won five of six and six of the last eight meetings.
