Bills' Mitchell considered doubtful for opener
Football Betting Lines
09/09/2010 - Orchard Park, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Buffalo Bills linebacker Kawika Mitchell missed practice Thursday and appears unlikely to play in Sunday's opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Mitchell hurt his foot in practice on Wednesday and was set to undergo tests Thursday.
"I think we're under further review, so to speak," Gailey said about the status for Mitchell. "We're still evaluating what's going on. Since he didn't work today and we're giving him more tests, you'd have to put him more toward the doubtful category, but I don't have to do that until [Friday]."
Mitchell, about to start his eighth NFL season and third with the Bills, is listed as the backup to Andra Davis on the team's depth chart. He started five games last year before a knee injury cut his season short.
The 30-year-old South Florida product had 82 tackles and four sacks in his first season with the Bills and added 27 tackles last year. He has also played for Kansas City and the New York Giants, starting 86 of his 96 career games.
